Meeting at the Rocky Mountain Centre for 10:30am, you'll be greeted by our friendly Mountain Leader team for a welcome chat and kit check for our Western Mourne Hike. We'll guide you at a pace to suit the entire group, starting from the centre and exploring some of the beautiful nearby peaks. Which hills we tackle depends very much on the weather conditions that day, and also the group's abilities and desires. We aim to be out in the mountains for approximately 2 hours, so we'll go at the pace the group dictates. Whilst out on the mountain, our team will tell some of the most famous tales about some of the most famous Greek gods and goddesses, such as Gaia (Earth Goddess), Uranus (God of the Heavens and sky), Aphrodite (Goddess of Love), Eros (love god) and Apollo (god of Light, archery and many other things).
Off the hill, we'll come back to the centre, where there will be a roaring fire ready to greet you, along with some hot drinks (coffees, teas and hot chocolates). After a quick warm up inside, we'll take you outside in the grounds of the centre to learn about the science of campfire lighting - alongside some good practical dos and donts for making the perfect campfire every time.

At this time also, we'll also get the outdoor food started, some of which you'll get to prepare and cook yourself - this is where we find out who the cook in your relationship really is! Don't worry too much though, our team will do most the work, we just get you involved for a bit of fun.

Finally, we'll move over to the archery range while the grub is cooking, and see if the Greek God Apollo passed on any of his skill to you, before finishing with tasty food, campfire and craic of the day we've just had.
